A huge earthquake in the Philippines… warning of the tsunami
A major earthquake occurred on the island of Mindanao in the south of the Philippines. The earthquake intensity was recorded at 6.9 on the Richter scale, the American Geological Survey said. Earthquake of 193 km north of the city of General Santos, on the island, was reported. The Pacific Tsunami Center warned of a tsunami threatening the shores of the 300-km coastline to the earthquake. However, American Hawaii has shown that there is no danger of a tsunami.
In the wake of the earthquake, the authorities alerted the coastal residents. Depending on the severity of the warnings, people are advised to leave the coastal areas. Tsunami warnings have also been issued to some islands in Indonesia, along with the Philippines. Officials have not yet disclosed the damage caused by the earthquake. A recent tsunami that killed Karkotova volcano in Indonesia has killed over 400 people.
