First Car Out Of Kia’s Anantapuram Plant To Be Rolled Out By Jan 2019
The South Korean auto giant ‘Kia Motors’ had a big story before the plant was set up in Andhra Pradesh. In fact, this plant is in Tamil Nadu. However, Kia’s management has been rethinked by the demands of political leaders there. The plant was set up at Penugonda in Anantapur district after AP Chief Minister Chandrababu took the initiative. The trial car is expected to be available by the end of January next year. Speaking on the occasion, AP senior Minister Amarnath Reddy said the Kia industry is coming to Anantapur district. He said that the Kia industry, which is being formed in the Red Corner Kunda area of Penugonda, will deliver a trial car on January 29, 2019.
At present, the car body pressing unit works 98.3 percent, bodybuilding unit works 99.2 percent, painting unit 95 percent, engine unit 95 percent and spare parts unit 95.8 percent. In January, the chief minister announced that the first car will be launched. Apart from the mega industries in the state, we are planning to have a Smoothaxa, Small and Medium Industry Park in each constituency, where it has already identified 35 constituencies.
Nearly $ 1.1 billion is invested in an area of over 600 acres. The factory is under construction with annual capacity of three lakh vehicles. Mini Sedan, a compact SUV, is selling the company. Kia aims to expand its portfolio over time.
