Jawans, Maoists Trade Fire At Andhra-Odisha Border
On Sunday afternoon, the security forces and the Maoists were on the Andhra-Odisha border. Despite the deaths in the shoots, the top Maoist leaders have escaped. Those who escaped were the victims of the Akkiraju haragopal alias Ramakrishna alias RK, Chalapathi alias Ramchandra Reddy Pratapreddy and Aruna alias Venkataravi. However, they suspect they may have been wounded in the shootings. According to Koraput SP Kanwar Biswalasingh, the Maoists are reported to be trapped in the Chikkulmuli forest area under the Pottanki police station of Koraput district. The District Venture Force, the Special Operations Group and the Border Security Force jointly took action.
The security forces found that the Maoists camp in the dense forest area tried to round them up. This led to a series of confrontations between the Maoists and the security forces. After about 20 minutes of hoarahari fire, the police destroyed the Maoists’ camp and captured heavy armaments, kitbags and IEDs. There are about 15 to 20 Maoists suspected to be here. Police suspect that they were the members of the Araku MLA Kidari Sarveshwara Rao and the former MLA Sivari Soma.
Maoists have been seen as the security forces in attacking the Andhra Pradesh territory and reaching safe havens. On the other hand, the agency was stunned by the incident. The security forces that escaped the Maoist survivors could not go too far and intensified the call for them.
