Select Committee to administer Sri Lanka Parliament
The Sri Lankan political parties have agreed to propose a select committee to formulate the activities of Parliament. The crisis situation in the country was made by President Sirisena’s decision to remove Prime Minister Wickremasinghe on October 26. With the Supreme Court intervening in Parliament, the new Prime Minister Rajapaksa lost it. After this evolution, the activities of Parliament are in the midst of confusion. All parties supported the President’s proposal to set up a select committee to look into the activities of the party. However, there is no consensus on how much of this representation should be.
