Sensex loses over 800 points
Dalal Street collapses. The rupee depreciates the value of rupee to close to Rs 74, and the crude oil price hikes are affecting the markets. As a result, the investors are looking forward to sales. The Sensex had lost over 500 points in early trade, and the Nifty started trading with over 150 points loss. Losses are still on.
In afternoon, the Sensex gained 805 points to close at 35170, while Nifty maintained a 244-point loss at 10614 points. The rupee exchange rate is at Rs 73.74. Bharti Airtel, Yes Bank, Larsen, HPCL, Axis Bank and other companies are also benefiting. Shares of IISER Motors, Reliance, Hero MotoCorp, Bajaj Finance and TCS were among the biggest losers.
