Team India Wears Black Armband To Pay Respect To Coach Ramakant Achrekar

In the fourth Test in Thursday’s opening encounter between India and Australia, teams of two teams are playing the match against ‘Black Ribbon’. Sachin Tendulkar’s mentor, the iconic coach Ramakant Achrekar, was died in his home in Mumbai yesterday. Cricketers who paid him a tribute today are playing black and white bats. Born in Maharashtra on January 2, 1932, Achrekar has been trained by Sachin Tendulkar, Vinod Kambli, Ajit Agarkar, Ramesh Powar and others.

Achrekar, who started cricket career in 1943, played for New Hind Sports Club for the first time in 1945. The coach’s giant cricket career, which played in the Gold Cup cricket tournament for SBI in 1963, was limited to just one first-class match. Sachin Tendulkar, after the age of 11, realized the extraordinary talent at the age of 11, when he became the cricket coach at Shivaji Park in Mumbai. Sachin Tendulkar has set a new record in the 24-year long career.
