That worst joke…… the decline in growth rate
Senior Congress leader and former Finance Minister P Chidambaram today said the Congress-led UPA government has been in the process of revising the growth rate. Chidambaram was blown away. Criticizing the growth rate is a worst joke. The government has been angry with the government in a series of tweets.
‘NitiOyog revised GDP figures is a big joke. It’s actually a worst joke. Even worse. The amendment of these statistics is the result of an attack on us. Nietioge made this attack. It’s time to close this nonsense firm. The figures given by former Chief Accountant Pranab Sen are certainly correct, “Chidambaram tweeted.
Earlier Congress spokesperson Randeep Surjewala strongly condemned the amendment of the statistics. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Finance Minister Arun Jaitley shouted that the release of fraudulent gross national product (GDP) in the name of the backdrop was to cover up the fraud. The Modi government has secretly changed the statistical method and revealed the wrong details.
The Central Calcutta Office (CSO) and Niti Ayyog have published statistics on the latest trends in the UPA regime. According to the previous statistics, growth in 2010-11 was 10.3 per cent and now it is 8.5 per cent. The growth rate of 2005-06 and 2006-07 also was 7.9% and 8.1% respectively. Earlier in the two financial years, the growth was 9.3 percent. The government’s growth forecast for 2007-08 was also 7.7 per cent from 9.8 per cent. The Central Calcutta Office calculated these estimates by taking into consideration the base year 2011-12.
