Virat Kohli Tops Valuable Celeb List With $170.8m Brand Value In 2018
Indian Cricket Team Captain Virat Kohli is not just on the ground but also in the brand value. He is the most valuable celebrity brand in the country. In the second year, the list continues to be top. In 2018, Kohli’s brand value grew by 18 per cent to $ 170.8 million (about Rs 1200 crore). By November 2018, Kohli was contracted with all 24 brands. Global valuation and corporate finance firm ‘Duff and Phelps’ revealed the ‘Most Valuable Celebrity Brands’ report on Thursday.
Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone is the next in the list. She earnings in 2018 were $ 102.5 million (about Rs 722 crore). There are 21 brands in Deepika’s account last year. The earnings from brands are more than $ 100 million dollars. The list of the 20 celebrity brands in the list is 877 million dollars (approximately Rs6180 crore). The top 10 celebrities share in this amount is over 75 per cent.
Bollywood actors Akshay Kumar and Ranveer Singh have improved their ranking in this list. They earned $ 67.3 million (about Rs 474 crore) and 63 million dollars (approximately Rs. 443 crore). Meanwhile, Shahrukh Khan, who finished second in 2017, was dropped to fifth place. His brand value fell to 60.7 million dollars (approximately Rs 427 crore).
Bollywood stars have scored over the list of 20 celebrities. However, the players were also given a stiff competition. Virat Kohli, Sachin Tendulkar, MS Dhoni and PV Sindhu together contributed nearly $ 241 million (about Rs 1698 crore). It is 27 percent of the total 20 brand value.
